Hospital Directory

This directory collects hospital financial assistance and charity care information in one place: who a program covers, the income guidelines where a hospital publishes them, what documents an application needs, how to apply, and a link to the hospital’s own policy document.

Every entry shows the date we last checked it, because these policies change without announcement.

How to use the directory

Start with the hospital that sent the bill — financial assistance is decided by the facility that treated you, not by your insurer. If the hospital belongs to a larger health system, the system-wide policy usually applies, but the income limits and application form can still differ by location.

If your hospital is not listed yet, the same information is normally published on the hospital’s own website under “financial assistance”, “charity care” or “patient financial services”. Nonprofit hospitals are generally required to publish a financial assistance policy, a plain-language summary and an application form.

What each entry covers

  • Whether the hospital offers financial assistance or charity care
  • General eligibility requirements
  • Income guidelines, where they are publicly available
  • How to apply, and what documents are usually requested
  • The application form and the hospital’s official policy document
  • Contact details for the financial assistance or billing office
  • Any deadline that applies after the date of service
  • The date the information was last checked

Coverage is being built out

The directory is growing hospital by hospital and system by system. If there is a hospital you would like added, or you have found an entry that is out of date, tell us through our contact page — corrections to the directory are prioritised.

About This Directory

FairMedicalBills is an independent consumer information website. We are not a hospital, health system, insurer or government agency, and we do not process financial assistance applications or decide eligibility. Entries reflect what a hospital had published on the date shown. Always confirm current requirements with the hospital before relying on them.
